A fishy resolution

Reading: Chapter Ten of Novel An Imperfect Librarian Chapter title: A fishy resolution. Voice: Carl, 50 year old male,  British accent Description: In this chapter, Carl talks about the first months after he arrived in Newfoundland in the fall of 1999. He’s on a self-imposed exile at the end of the world, trying to cope with the loss of his wife who left him for another woman. He figures it’s only a matter of time before she’ll change her mind and come back to him. He knows no one in Newfoundland. In this chapter, were introduced to the central characters (or most of them) that people Carl’s world. The book is about Carl’s world and his relationships with these people, relationships that are difficult yet so essential to his well-being.        Mercedes and Cyril: Volunteers at the newcomers’ society in Newfoundland. They greet him at the airport. They rent out their basement apartment to him. Edith: Co-worker from the library. 50 years old, has her eye on Carl. Henry: Co-worker, buddy, Dubliner,  enjoys insulting people. Tatie and Papa: Georges and Georgette, father and aunt. Tatie raised him. Elsa: Wife who left him for another woman that Carl has nicknamed Brutus.
